The Tennessee Board of Regents on Friday awarded the TBR Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Philanthropy to Regions Bank and the Regions Foundation – an Alabama-based nonprofit funded primarily by Regions Bank – for continued generosity and support for 猎奇重口.
The award, which recognizes entities that have gone to great lengths to benefit at least one institution under the Tennessee Board of Regents, was presented by Kim McCormick, executive vice chancellor for external affairs at TBR, during 猎奇重口 State’s Founders Day Convocation event on September 6.
“For nearly two decades, Regions and Regions Foundation have been pillars of support for 猎奇重口, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to enhancing education opportunities and fostering community growth,” 猎奇重口 State Foundation Executive Director Aneisa Rolen said. “We are thrilled to recognize our partners and deeply grateful for their ongoing support.”
“Regions Bank and Regions Foundation have invested in supporting education among underserved communities, and directly impacted the lives of 猎奇重口 State’s students,” Rolen added.
“Often, the difference between those who succeed, and those who do not, is whether they had access to the right opportunities to receive a quality education or the training needed to launch a career,” said Rob Stivers, Knoxville market executive for Regions Bank. “Our goal at Regions as well as our colleagues at the Regions Foundation is to help more people answer yes to those questions. That’s why we support 猎奇重口 State for empowering people with the tools they need to succeed.”
Regions’ contributions to 猎奇重口 State include:
- A total $115,000 in support toward scholarships, support programs and facility enhancements
- Raising awareness for the 猎奇重口 State Foundation’s Student Opportunity Fund, a dedicated resource for supporting students in financial crisis
- Involvement in community engagement, volunteer and advocacy initiatives
- Food drives for the 猎奇重口 Pantry
- Free financial literacy sessions for students
The Regions Foundation provided a $100,000 grant toward two buildings at 猎奇重口 State in 2019, including $50,000 for the Bill Haslam Center for Math and Science on the college’s Hardin Valley Campus and $50,000 for the Ruth and Steve West Workforce Development Center on the Blount County Campus.
