Certificates

The Mental Health Technician certificate prepares students for entry-level employment in behavioral health and psychiatric support positions. Students gain foundational knowledge in psychology, mental health care, patient safety, and treatment support while developing practical skills through career immersion experiences at local hospitals, clinics, and community-based organizations. The program emphasizes culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice and prepares graduates to assist licensed professionals in the delivery of mental health services.

Typical job opportunities include mental health technicians, psychiatric technicians, behavioral health support specialists, residential care assistants, and substance abuse technicians.

Courses at each level (Foundation, Core, and Advanced Track) must be completed prior to advancing to the next level. When more than one course is offered within a level, courses may be taken in any sequence.
